Proposal:

Paul T.P. Wong’s he says that a person’s research paper is only as good as their proposal. A research proposal is intended to convince others that you have a worthwhile research project and that you have the competence and the work-plan to complete it (www.meaning.ca). The proposal should include adequate information to pursuade people that you have an important research idea. There were three questions in the article that they basically claim you must answer in your proposal: “What you plan to accomplish?, why you want to do it?, and how you are going to do it?”.  Also in the article it gives all seven parts that should be included in a proposal. The several parts are: title, abstract, introduction, literature review, methods, results, and discussion. I found this site to be very helpful because otherwise I would have no idea what a research proposal was.

Outline:

The website that I found states that an outline is a formal system used to think about and organize your paper(depts.washington.edu). There are two kinds of outlines that a person can do for their research paper. The first one is the topic outline which is made up of short phrases. The second outline is called the sentence outline which is done in full sentences, and it is normally used when your paper focuses on complex details (depts.washington.edu). One good thing about the sentence outline is that you can list more details instead of only using short phrases (depts.washington.edu). Both the topic and sentence outlines follow a strict format, using Roman and Arabic numerals along with capital and small letters of the alphabet (depts.washington.edu).

I read your proposal. I will leave my comments to make sure what you want to do in this study.

First of all, what is the definition of shopping addiction?? How do scholars define this concept? I also wonder where the statistic data in the very beginning of the first paragraph comes from??

By the way, what is your research question in this study? I don’t see exactly what you try to examine in this proposal. I also wonder what the goal of this study is. What in shopping addiction do you want to discuss in this paper?

If you have any question, you can talk to me in class. Or I will be happy to sit and talk in the library.
